What fish can we catch?

Depending on the season, you can target Coho and Chinook Salmon, Pacific Halibut, Lingcod, Rockfish, Seabass, and Albacore Tuna. Captain Del will advise on what's running best at the time of your trip.

Question 2

How far offshore do you go?

Accepted Answer

We run offshore trips up to 20 miles out for salmon, halibut, and tuna. Nearshore bottom fishing trips stay within 5 miles of the coast. The trip type depends on what you book and current conditions.

Question 3

Do I need a fishing license?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All anglers age 12 and older must have a valid Oregon fishing license. You may also need a Combined Angling Tag (CAT) for salmon. Licenses are available at myodfw.com or local sporting goods stores.

Question 4

Is equipment provided?

Accepted Answer

Yes! All rods, reels, and tackle are included. We also provide live bait. Just bring yourself, your license, and your appetite for adventure.

Can kids come on the trip?

Absolutely — families are welcome! Children must wear a life vest at all times. Please let us know the ages and sizes of children when booking so we can confirm the right life vest is available.

Question 6

Do we keep our catch?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Everything you legally catch is yours to take home. We'll clean and bag your fish for you. Bring a cooler with ice to transport your catch.

Question 7

What should I wear?

Dress in warm, layered clothing. Even on sunny days it can be cold and windy on the water. Bring a waterproof jacket or rain gear. Wear non-slip shoes.

Question 8

What if I get seasick?

Accepted Answer

We recommend taking motion sickness medication (like Dramamine) before boarding if you're prone to seasickness. Eat a light meal beforehand and avoid alcohol. Seasickness bags are available on board.

Question 9

What happens if the weather is bad?

Your safety is our top priority. If conditions are unsafe, we will cancel or reschedule your trip. We monitor forecasts closely and will contact you as early as possible if a cancellation is necessary.

Where do we depart from?

We depart from 2120 SE Marine Science Drive #27, Newport, Oregon 97365. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time.

Question 12

How many people can come?

Accepted Answer

The boat accommodates up to 6 passengers. Private charters are available — contact us to discuss group bookings.
